My name is Kaitlin. I graduated from Susquehanna University's Writers Institute and earned my MFA in fiction from Chatham University. My MFA thesis was a short story collection about family and coming of age, and the title story "Like Glass" was published in Crack the Spine literary magazine. "Holes To Fill," another story from my thesis, was published by The Passed Note in June 2016. My work has also appeared in The Broadkill Review. I write mostly about girls in their teens and twenties trying to discover who they are. Sometimes that girl is me.
Books are my favorite thing in the world. I always have a book in my purse, and my to-be-read shelf is never empty. Check out my recommendations page for some of my favorite books. I love going to author events, and meeting Sarah Dessen (my YA queen) was one of the highlights of my writer life!
I love to travel. My experiences in in South Africa, Belize and Guatemala have inspired my writing, and I try to find ways to strap backpacks on my characters, too!
When I’m not writing or reading, I enjoy listening to country music, doing yoga, watching the same TV shows over and over (Gilmore Girls, Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, and Castle), ordering huge coffees at Dunkin Donuts, and spending time with my friends and family.
Hope you enjoy my blog! If there’s anything you’d like to see a post about, please let me know!
