What's Up Wednesday!

I missed last week's WUW post, so I'm playing catch-up this time! By the way, LOVING the bright and shiny new button from Jaime!

What I'm Reading
I've read a bunch of fun books in the past two weeks! I finished SCARLET and CRESS, the second and third books in the Lunar Chronicles series. LOVE THEM! This is my favorite series I've read in 2014 so far, and it's working its way up my all time favorites list. I also finished PRODIGY, the second book in the Legend trilogy. I'm currently reading the final book, CHAMPION.

For school, I finished DEAR LIFE by Alice Munro and am currently rereading HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG by Andre Dubus III. I read this two years ago on my own, and it was conveniently assigned as a class reading. Lucky me!

What I'm Writing
I'm working on finishing up a short story for my end-of-the-semester short story portfolio. I've been plugging away at it off and on all semester, half a scene here and there, and I love where it's going. Still not sure what my ending is, though...hopefully I figure that out soon!

What Inspires Me Right Now
Not inspiring as much as motivating...the end-of-the-semester deadlines. For some reason, all my professors set their due dates BEFORE finals week instead of DURING finals week this semester. So I have two fewer weeks to work on everything. ACK!

What Else Is New
I spent 2 hours at Pep Boys today, convinced the tire pressure sensor on my car was broken. The tire pressure light comes on and blinks if I drive my car for more than 20 minutes. But all the mechanic did was let some air out of my tires and told me I had them too full. Even though the reason my dad and I put so much air in the tires was to try and get the blinky light to turn off...sigh. Anyone else hate cars?

I've also had a cold for the past week. It's not too terrible, except one night I woke up at 2:30, not able to sleep because my nose was so stuffed. So I cleaned my apartment until it was time to go to work. Of course my lack of sleep caught up to me and I was miserable at work, but at least I had a clean bathroom!

Sick with a paper to write = no fun!

How was your week, everyone?

  2. Hope your cold is all cleared up. Being sick is the worst! Especially when you have so many things to get done. I'm glad you loved SCARLET and CRESS. Weren't they awesome? I really can't wait for Book 4. It's so nice to read a series that doesn't sag anywhere in the middle, but just keeps getting better and better. Have a wonderful week, Kaitlin! And best of luck with everything that needs to get done!
