Ready. Set. WRITE! (Week 2)

Last week I made my Ready. Set. WRITE! goals for the summer writing intensive, so now it's time to check in and see how I did!

How I did on last week’s goals
I revised about half of the chapters I wanted to (oops), and am most of the way through the TNW potential epilogue. I decided not to tackle another drafting process right now and stick with revising and writing forward on my project from last summer, so I’m disregarding the character outlines for right now.

My goal(s) for this week

-Revise TNW up to chapter 14
-Finish the epilogue from last week
-Begin filling in the blank spaces in my TNW outline.

A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised
He always knew what I needed, and at twelve years old I wanted nothing more than to freeze myself and my family in time, to let the world go on around us while we remained the same.”

The biggest challenge I faced this week

Finding time to write/work while company is here without coming off as rude/uninterested in spending time with them.

Something I love about my WiP

My MC’s dramatic, emotional, wonderful older sister. <3

Good luck with your goals, fellow writers, and happy Monday!

  1. I don't blame you for only getting through half the chapters you wanted with company in town. I'm actually impresses that you got through any! I hope your company is gone this week! ;) Happy writing!

  2. It's tricky finding time to write when you have company. Hope you get more writing time this week! :)

  3. Writing is so hard when there are other people vying for your time. I'm sure you're not going to come off as rude if you protect your writing time. Sometimes it has to be done!

Good luck on your goals this week :)

  4. Love the snippet and don't beat yourself too much about only getting through half your goal…better than nothing AND you had company over.

  5. I really like the line you shared, Kaitlin! :-) You got a lot accomplished this week. And I think it's great that you've figured out what you want to work on. It's SO hard to choose between projects and SNIs, isn't it? Good luck this week! :D

  6. I'm pretty sure I would LOVE your MC's older sister. :) Also, finding time to write amidst company? I know that one. I hope you have a productive week! Loved the snippet, btw!

  8. I have trouble working on two projects at a time, so I get why you'd put off drafting and focus on revisions instead. I'm overlapping two projects just a teensy bit lately, but that won't last long, thank goodness. Love the line you shared from your WIP! I think I can relate to your mc on that feeling a lot. Good luck with next week's goals!

  9. Ohhh, writing with company around. It's almost as bad as doing work while on vacation. Glad you made it through the week with lots to show for it. Good luck in the coming week!
