How I did on last week's goals
I worked on my WIP every day! My total word count for the week was a little over 8k, which for me is CRAZY.
My goals for this week (or the next two weeks)
My summer writing intensive starts on Thursday, so I'll be putting my WIP aside to work on short stories. In the next two weeks, I want to write one good short story draft (hopefully I can accomplish this, considering it's part of my grade!) for school.
A favorite line from my story
[Tally's mom comes to pick her up from college for their fall break road trip across Pennsylvania, and she's wearing an I<3 PA hoodie]
“I stopped at a rest area on the Turnpike to pee,” she
informs me, sliding behind the wheel, “and there they were. Calling to me! Screaming, ‘Please buy me
and wear me ironically, Jill! Please take me with you!’ And I figured, since
we’ll be driving across the entire state of Pennsylvania, it’s only fitting
that we look the part.” She reaches into the backseat and comes up with another
sweatshirt, this one blue, which she tosses at my face.
“You’re kidding me.”
“Nope. Put it on and let’s get out of here.”
The biggest challenge I faced this week
Making sure I wrote every day, even if it was just a few hundred words.
Something I love about my WIP
The scenes that take place in university environments. College is one of my favorite things to write about!
My next RSW post will probably be two weeks from now, so until then, happy writing!!!!
Congrats on 8K! That's awesome! Best of luck w/your writing for school!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! 8000 words is very impressive, Kaitlin! I really enjoyed the snippet you shared too. Have a great week writing- and otherwise! :-)

Happy writing to you too! And have fun and good luck with the short stories in the next two weeks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm from PA so I HEART PA too. I'd wear the sweatshirt. ;)
