What's Up Wednesday!

I've spent a good portion of today catching up on posts I hadn't written (my RSW update, Top Ten Tuesday), and am FINALLY getting around to my WUW post! So welcome to another What's Up Wednesday, hosted by Jaime and Erin! 

What I’m Reading

I’m in love with THE ASSASSIN’S BLADE, the prequel novellas to Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series. There are five novellas in all, and I’m currently reading number four, THE ASSASSIN AND THE UNDERWORLD. I’m trying to take my time because I don’t want them to end! Thank goodness book three, HEIR OF FIRE, comes out in September! I’m also reading FUNNY ONCE by Antonya Nelson, a short story collection for school.

What I’m Writing

Random scenes from a new WiP I’ve roughly outlined. I’m just writing scenes that strike me, even though they’re out of order. We’ll see what comes of it!

What Inspires Me Right Now

I actually need to get back on the inspiration train…the past few weeks have been pretty distracting with company and vacation. Hopefully RSW can kick me back into high gear!

What Else Is New

Like I mentioned earlier, I spent the weekend at my Grandma’s! We had a big barbecue and ate so much food. It was a great weekend! I attempted to get some writing done while everyone else was napping/watching the World Cup.

Then when we got home on Monday, I had a surprise waiting for me: an ARC of LANDLINE, Rainbow Rowell’s newest novel. I won it in a GoodReads contest and didn’t expect it to arrive for another few weeks. It’s a super cool promotional copy without bar codes/pricing and it details the promo campaign on the inside, so I feel special! I can’t wait to read and review it! I’ll be posting the review here as well as my GoodReads page if you’re interested in reading my thoughts, hopefully on or around its July 8^th release date. 

And last but not least, I am OBSESSED with Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood's duet, "Somethin' Bad." It's all I've been singing for the past three or four weeks. They released the video last week and it's fantastic! And the hair alone is an event in itself! Love those ladies!
