What's Up Wednesday

Howdy Wednesday, what’s up with you? Here’s what’s happening with me (I'm trying to keep these updates shorter):

What I’m Reading
I finished 4 books (reread FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell, NEVER FADE by Alexandra Bracken, BEAR SEASON by Kathy Ayres for school, and ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins). I’ll be reviewing ANNA soon! Now I’m reading CROWN OF MIDNIGHT, the second book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, and Pam Houston’s CONTENTS MAY HAVE SHIFTED for school.

What I’m Writing
I am in the progress of accomplishing a RSW weekly goal of writing a potential epilogue for my WIP. Sometimes you just need an ending to work toward, even if that ending might change.

What Inspires Me Right Now
John Green and the success of TFIOS. More below.

What Else I’ve Been Up To
I saw The Fault in Our Stars movie twice this weekend and am in complete and total love. It follows the book almost exactly, a perfect adaptation in my opinion. The casting was flawless (I adored Shailene, Ansel, and Nat) and I found myself laughing constantly. The book’s sadness is hyped up so much that I almost forget just how funny it is. I’m so happy for John Green and this book that he spent twelve years working on. He’s been through several failed movie adaptation attempts with LOOKING FOR ALASKA and PAPER TOWNS previously, but this one was perfect. I’m so happy for the success of this story. <3

What did you do this week? Did you see (and love) TFIOS?

  1. I loved ANNA -- can't wait to read your review! Also, I am insanely envious that you've seen TFIOS twice. I haven't even seen it once yet. Nor have I seen DIVERGENT. Aah, motherhood. :-) Best of luck with writing your epilogue this week, Kaitlin!

  2. You are definitely in reading mode! I loved Anna and the French Kiss! I wasn't nearly so fond of Fangirl, but I finished it this week too! I have not yet seen TFIOS. I'm waiting for my daughter, who is currently finishing her junior year AND taking a three week intensive driver's ed class. She has zero room to see a movie and I CAN'T see it without her.

Absolutely loved both ANNA and FANGIRL!

  5. I like your idea of writing an epilogue to work towards. I think it's great to know where you're going. Good luck! I still haven't gotten to TFIOS in the theatres just yet, but I'm hoping to sometime soon. Have a great week!
